Sera Gösch

Sera Gösch (* 28 December 1985 as Serap Gögüş in Istanbul ) is an Austrian concert and opera singer of Turkish descent in the vocal category Soprano .

Career

Gösch studied in Istanbul and Vienna , where she graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree from the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna .

In 2006 she performed the role of Feraye / Constanze at the Grand théâtre de la ville de Luxembourg , the Toneelhuis in Antwerp and the Nationaltheater Mannheim in Saray - Mozart alla Turca , an adaptation of Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail sung in Turkish and German .

In 2011 she sang Bach's Johannes Passion in Rome with the Bach Collegium Stuttgart and the Gächinger Kantorei . Her concert activities also extended in May 2015 to the Lulu Suite by Alban Berg with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Keri-Lynn Wilson, in March 2016 to opera concerts in Washington (Strathmore Music Center) and New York ( Lincoln Center ) and in May 2017 to the coloratura soprano concerto in F minor ( op.82 ) by Reinhold Moritzewitsch Glière with the Slovenska filharmonija in Ljubljana . In December 2018, Gösch sang the indoor aria of Elisabeth from Richard Wagner's opera Tannhäuser as well as arias from Idomeneo and Eugen Onegin at the annual opera gala in Toronto .

From 2012 to 2015 she was engaged as a soloist at the Vienna Volksoper . She made her house debut in December 2012 as Dewoman in Hansel and Gretel . Other roles were Frasquita in Carmen , Papagena in Die Zauberflöte , Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro and the senator's wife Barbara Delaqua in the operetta One Night in Venice . She also sang the soprano solo there in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana .

Since 2012 she has been a soloist in concerts by the Vienna Mozart Orchestra in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein , the Konzerthaus and at the Vienna State Opera , as well as the Hofburg Orchestra .

In April 2016 and 2017 she appeared as Violetta Valéry in Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata at the Varna State Opera . In March 2018 Gösch performed musical scenes by Salome and Chrysothemis ( Elektra ) in a concert with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Gerrit Priessnitz in the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia . In June 2018 Sera Gösch took over the title role in Salome at the Budapest Summer Festival in a co-production of the Budapest State Opera and the Margaret Island Open-Air Theater. In February 2019, Gösch made his debut at the Wiesbaden State Theater in a new production of Salome . In December 2019 and January 2020 she could be heard again in the title role of Salome . She sang the premiere and other performances for the sick soprano Heather Engebretson at the Lucerne Theater in Switzerland with great success .

In January 2018 she was granted Austrian citizenship.
