Serafino Cimino

Serafino Cimino OFM (born October 3, 1873 in Capri , Province of Naples , Italy ; † May 4, 1928 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Serafino Cimino joined the religious order of the Franciscans in 1898 and received the sacrament of Holy Orders . From 1915 to 1921 Cimino was Minister General of the Franciscans and at the same time Custos of the Custody of the Holy Land until 1918 .

On December 18, 1924, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Cyrrhus and ordered him to apostolic delegate in Mexico . The secretary of the Consistorial Congregation , Cardinal Gaetano De Lai , donated him episcopal ordination on January 11, 1925 ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Monterrey , José Juan de Jésus Herrera y Piña , and the Bishop of Zamora , Manuel Fulcheri y Pietrasanta . In May 1925, Serafino Cimino resigned as Apostolic Delegate in Mexico. Pius XI. appointed him on April 13, 1926 apostolic nuncio in Peru .
