Sergei Alexandrowitsch Kirdjapkin ( Russian Сергей Александрович Кирдяпкин ; born June 18, 1980 in Insar , Mordovian ASSR , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a Russian athlete .

Career

Kirdjapkin won gold in the 50 km walk at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki .

He is 1.78 m tall and weighs 66 kg.

doping

In January 2015, Kirdjapkin was banned for three years and two months retrospectively to October 15, 2012 due to abnormalities in his Biological Passport and all results between July 20, 2009 and September 20, 2009, between June 29, 2010 and April 29 August 2010 as well as between December 17, 2011 and June 11, 2012 deleted, including the 2009 world championship title. Thus he would have kept his 2012 Olympic gold medal . The world association IAAF appealed against this decision to the International Court of Sport . This objection was granted on March 24, 2016 and the medal was revoked .
