Settmarshausen is located on the northeastern edge of the Hann. Münden . The place is between the A 7 , which runs 3 km to the east, and the B 3 from Göttingen to Hann. Münden , which runs north 2 km away.

history

Settmarshausen was first mentioned as Sehtmanneshusen on June 18, 1315 , when the rights and affiliation of the forest between the places Settmarshausen and Sydageshusen , the desert settlement of Siedershausen near Mengershausen , were established.

On January 1, 1973, Settmarshausen was incorporated into the community of Rosdorf.

church

The Protestant church is a hall-like long house. It was added to the former Gothic fortified tower in 1774 . In the tower there is a grave vault belonging to the noble Götz von Olenhusen family .
