Carlton Shane Dronett (* 12. January 1971 in Orange , Texas ; † 21st January 2009 in Duluth , Georgia ) was an American American football poker players on the position of the defensive ends . He played for the Denver Broncos , Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Dronett attended high school in Bridge City , Texas. He later attended the University of Texas at Austin .

NFL

Denver Broncos

Dronett was selected in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft in 54th place by the Denver Broncos . He stayed here for four years.

First stay with the Falcons

For the 1996 season he moved to the Atlanta Falcons . he completed five games for the franchise .

Detroit Lions

In the same season he moved to the Detroit Lions , for which he completed seven games.

Second stay with the Falcons

For the 1997 season, Dronett moved again to the Falcons. In 1998 he reached Super Bowl XXXIII with the Falcons , which they lost 34:19 to the Denver Broncos . Before the 2003 season , he was released from the Falcons. He then ended his professional career.

In 2007 Dronett was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He became paranoid and anxious. On January 21, 2009, he attacked his wife with a gun. After she ran away from him, he turned it on himself and shot himself. He left behind his wife and two daughters.
