Sharada ( Nepali शारदा Sharada ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Salyan District in the Karnali Province in the southwest of Nepal .

Sharada is located on the eponymous river Sharada Khola , a right tributary of the Babai .

The district administration of Salyan is located in Khalanga . The urban area covers 198.32 km².

The Rapti Rajmarg highway runs through Sharada.

history

The city was created in 2014 from the amalgamation of the Village Development Committees Dandagaun , Hiwalcha , Kajeri , Khalanga , Marke , Saijuwal Takura and Syanikhal .

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Sharada had 33,730 inhabitants (15,661 of them male) in 7391 households.
