Shauli Einav

Shauli Einav (* 1982 ) is an Israeli musician ( saxophone (tenor, soprano), composition ) of modern jazz .

Live and act

Einav started playing the violin at the age of four. At the age of 13 he switched to the saxophone and began playing in many bands from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. In 1998 Einav was discovered by the American saxophonist Arnie Lawrence . Einav later received his Bachelor of Arts from Jerusalem Academy and his Masters from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. After seven years in the New York music scene, he moved to Paris; there he played with jazz musicians such as Aaron Goldberg , Avishai Cohen , Don Friedman , Eliot Zigmund , Omer Avital , Johnathan Blake , Shai Maestro , Walt Weiskopf , Frank Gambale , Dave Liebman and Gilad Hekselman .

Einav performed with his ensembles in venues and festivals such as Duc des Lombards , Südtirol Jazzfest , Rochester Jazz Festival, Swing Hall Tokyo, Bohemia Jazz Festival, Venice Jazz Festival, Jazz Festival on the Red Sea, Enjoy Jazz , Smalls , Kitano, Knitting Factory and the Munich Drive down. In 2008 his debut album Home Seek was released . Under his own name, he released several albums in the 2010s; Animi was released in 2018 , with Andy Hunter (trombone), Tim Collins (vibraphone), Yoni Zelnik (bass), Guilhem Flouzat (drums) and Facal Salhi ( oud ).
