Shrek - Oh du Shrekliche is a Christmas special for the Shrek film series, which was released as a direct-to-DVD short film on DVD for Christmas 2008 . The speakers for the main roles are the same as in the movies. The nearly half-hour film ran in the US in November 2007 on the ABC Television Network . In Germany he was shown on ProSieben in December 2007 and 2008 .

Just when Shrek thinks he can finally sit back, relax and enjoy a few happy hours with his newly founded family, Christmas is just around the corner. Shrek has no idea what this is about. However, Fiona tells him that she expects him to make their first Christmas together to be very special. Shrek gets a book about Christmas to plan everything down to the last detail. It's the day before Christmas Eve and everyone is full of joyous expectations - all but Shrek. Unfortunately, everyone around them has their own ideas about how Christmas should be designed. But for the sake of Fiona and the children, Shrek tries to prepare a perfect Christmas party. The Christmas dinner is already stewing in the oven and Shrek has lovingly decorated the Christmas tree with inflated toads, as described in his guide "Christmas for village idiots". The only thing missing is the Christmas story that he is about to read to his three children when suddenly his friends walk in. The donkey, the gingerbread man and the puss in boots give him plenty of good but also confusing advice and destroy the good mood. The donkey tells a funny but disturbing story of his first Christmas parade, the tomcat tells about the "Mexican Santa Claus" and the gingerbread man tells about Santa Claus having eaten his girlfriend. So Shrek throws her out without further ado. Fiona tries to save the situation by apologizing to the others for the impossible behavior of her husband. At the end of the day everyone in Wonderland celebrates a unique Christmas Eve.
