Local division

The village of Siebeneich belongs to the former municipality of Siebeneich.

history

Siebeneich is first mentioned in a document in 1335. The place name was possibly also the name of the local stream, on the banks of which the place developed from two settlement cores, which were probably founded from Schwabbach in the late clearing period. The local rule was initially with the Lords of Weinsberg and then came with large parts of their rule in 1450 to the Electoral Palatinate and partly to the Hohenlohe family , before the place came to Württemberg as a result of the Bavarian-Palatinate War of Succession in 1504 with Schwabbach . The property in Siebeneich was in particular with the Öhringen monastery and split up with other owners. The place has always been agricultural and, because of the high proportion of forests, also especially forestry , with small and medium-sized farms predominating. The wine-growing on the denunciation of the place is attested since its first mention in the 14th century, significant is the fruit growing .

In 1495 there were nine households, by 1820 the place grew to 30 residential buildings and 35 auxiliary buildings with just over 200 inhabitants. Siebeneich had a mayor as early as the 16th century , but was a district of Schwabbach until 1836 and only then became an independent municipality within the Oberamt Weinsberg . After its dissolution, the small village came to the Oberamt Öhringen in 1926 (from 1938: Landkreis Öhringen ). The population had decreased from 248 to 167 between 1880 and 1939. After the Second World War, the population increased for a short time due to the inclusion of displaced persons, but many did not settle there permanently, so that the place had only 160 inhabitants in 1957.

In 1973 Siebeneich came from the district of Öhringen to the newly formed Hohenlohe district. On January 1, 1975, Adolzfurt , Bitzfeld , Bretzfeld , Dimbach , Geddelsbach , Scheppach , Schwabbach , Siebeneich, Unterheimbach and Waldbach merged to form the new municipality of Bretzfeld.

Religions

Siebeneich has always been ecclesiastically connected to Schwabbach and was reformed with Schwabbach when it was released from the parish in Waldbach in 1481 and became a Schwabbach branch in the 16th century . There was an old urban chapel on site, which was demolished in 1839. The place was almost entirely Protestant until the middle of the 20th century. Today's evangelical parish Schwabbach comprises the districts of Schwabbach and Siebeneich of the parish of Bretzfeld and belongs to the Weinsberg-Neuenstadt church district of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg .

The Catholic parish, which has only emerged since 1945 with the influx of displaced persons from traditionally Catholic countries, is parish in Wimmental .
