Sieghard Rost

Sieghard Rost (born November 7, 1921 in Woldisch-Tychow ; † April 25, 2017 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

After graduating from high school in Köslin , Rost was a soldier in World War II and was a prisoner of war. In 1945 he became a construction worker in Nuremberg. He studied philology in Erlangen with a doctorate and was then active in teaching at grammar schools in Fürth , Hersbruck and Nuremberg, most recently as senior director of studies at the Weißenburg grammar school and at the Willstätter grammar school in Nuremberg.

Rost was a member of the city council in Nuremberg, deputy chairman of the CSU district association Nürnberg-Fürth and state chairman of the Union of Expellees in the CSU; he was honorary chairman of the latter until his death. From 1970 to 1990 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament , from 1974 for the Nuremberg-East constituency . There he was spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group for policy on Germany and expellees. He was also a member of the Broadcasting Council of the BR and from 1972 in the Presidium of the House of the German East .
