Simone Hirth

Simone Hirth , since 2016 Simone Seidl (* 1985 in Freudenstadt ), is a German writer. She has lived in Austria since 2012 .

Life

Hirth grew up in Lützenhardt in the northern Black Forest and studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . After various jobs, she moved to Vienna in 2012 , where she has been working as a freelance author and editor since 2014, then in Gablitz from 2014 and now in Kirchstetten .

Her debut novel was published by Kremayr & Scheriau in 2016 and was nominated for the Alpha 2018 Literature Prize. She married on June 11, 2016 in Salzburg . Simone Seidl continues to use her maiden name as an artist name .

Hirth received several grants, a Hermann Lenz grant in 2007 , a Hans Weigel literature grant in 2015/16 and a “Literature” work grant from the BMUKK , 2017 Lower Austrian Culture Prize - “Literature” recognition award from the State of Lower Austria, 2018 annual grant from the Ministry of Science , Research and Art Baden-Württemberg .
