Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award
That of the European Tour annually awarded Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award for the best newcomer of Europe's largest golf tournament series is named after the three times Open Champion , the Englishman Sir Henry Cotton , named.
The winner will be determined by a committee made up of members from the PGA European Tour , The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the Association of Golf Writers . Usually the trophy is awarded to the best placed newcomer on the money list (since 2009 Race to Dubai , before that European Tour Order of Merit ), but this is not compulsory.
