Marc Warren (born April 1, 1981 in Rutherglen , Scotland ) is a Scottish professional golfer on the European Tour .

Career

He began playing golf at the age of 13, pocketed the winning putt in the 2001 Walker Cup , and became a professional golfer in 2002 .

Warren played the first few years on the Challenge Tour , the European tournament series of the second level. In the 2005 season he won two tournaments and the money list, which made him qualified for the big European Tour . In August 2006 he won his first title, the Scandinavian Masters , in the jump-off against the Swede Robert Karlsson . At the end of the 2006 season, Warren was awarded the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award (best newcomer of the year). In 2007 he won the World Cup for Scotland with Colin Montgomerie .

His supervisor is Bob Torrance, the Scottish coaching legend and father of the former Ryder Cup captain and 21-time tournament winner on the European Tour Sam Torrance .
