Sissy is a German-language, non-heterosexual culture magazine with a focus on cinema and literature. From 2009 to 2015 Sissy was published quarterly as a free film magazine by Salzgeber & Co. Medien .

The Sissy deals with non-heterosexual or queer-relevant cinema films, DVD / Blu-ray publications and books. It is published by Salzgeber & Co. Medien GmbH . As a free magazine, it was available in cinemas, in book and DVD stores, in trendy bars and at film schools until the end of 2015 and was also sent free of charge to subscribers. The magazine was discontinued after 27 issues. At the end of 2016, Sissy was continued as an online magazine. Since the end of 2018 she has also devoted herself to non-heterosexual literature.
Surname
The name of the film magazine refers to a standardized figure within film history. In film history, a male minor character is referred to as "Sissy", who usually acts as a main character's best friend. She has no own erotic interest, but it is often suggested that the "sissy" is gay or at least ambiguous in her sexual orientation.
