Sissy Handler (born May 6, 1976 in Graz ) is an Austrian singer , songwriter , vocal coach and producer . She is best known by her stage name MisSiss . Her genre is mainly pop , soul , R 'n' B and gospel .

Live and act

Sissy Handler comes from a musical family. After graduating from the BG Fürstenfeld , she completed the tourism college in Bad Gleichenberg . Before her classical vocal training with Margarita Kyriaki-Wagner and additional singing lessons with Romana Carén , Dean Kaelin, Mary Ann Kehler, Wendy Parr and Leon Bérrange, she sang in several pop, soul and blues bands. Later she developed her special interest in black music , especially soul, R 'n' B and gospel. After her first musical role as sister Robert Ann in Nonnsense , other projects followed. In 2006 she founded Soulistics , the band with which she still plays her own songs live with a large cast. Also at the Ö3 Soundcheck 2008 she was in the final with the single Diva and her band Soulistics . The album of the same name, which was released in the summer of 2012, was already planned at the time and production began. At the same time, she has been singing in the gospel / soul / pop ensemble Gospel and More since 2006 . In 2007 she founded Voicedimensions - Vocal Training and Coaching for budding professionals together with Ingrid Diem . In 2015 Sissy Handler founded the platform You're the Voice (workshop series for aspiring singers and professional singers) together with Veronika Fiegl .

Her collaboration with the Argentine producer Ariel Gato led to the album Sissita's Soul Tangos , with Fernando Suárez Paz (first violinist of Astor Piazzolla ) and Gabriel Senanes (former conductor of the Teatro Colón ). In 2010 a live tour followed with the Argentine musicians through South America and in 2011 through Germany and Austria. Songs from Sissita's Soul Tangos have been broadcast on over a hundred radio stations around the world and the album even made it onto the Grammys shortlist.

At the end of 2011 she sang the Coca Cola Truck Tour as a member of the Gospel Quartet Gospel & More and was seen as a gospel singer in the German-Austrian co-production Christmas angel kisses one does not kiss (broadcast on ORF, ZDF, 3Sat). In the summer of 2012 she released her second album Soulistics . In 2014, the single He's So Special became the 2014 Radio Wien summer hit .

As a songwriter and singer, she also works with colleagues such as Eva Maria Marold , for whom she wrote songs for the album Pretty 30 . She also worked with Christoph Brüx as a composer, lyricist and singer.
