Sergei Gorbok [ sʲʌrɦej ɦʌrbɔk ] ( Belarusian Сяргей Гарбок , Russian Сергей Валерьевич Горбок / Sergei Valeryevich Gorbok; * 4. December 1982 in Minsk , Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is a former Belarusian handball player , who for since 2012. Russia starts. He is 1.98 m tall.

Sjarhej Harbok began playing handball in his hometown near Arkatron Minsk under coach Nikolai Schuk. In 2003 - after winning the Belarusian championship, in which he was the second best thrower with 259 goals - he moved to the Ukrainian series champion STR Zaporizhia , where he won the Ukrainian championship in 2004 and 2005. In 2005 he was brought in by the Slovenian top club RK Celje to replace Siarhei Rutenka . Here he won the Slovenian Championship in 2006 and 2007 and the Slovenian Cup in 2006. When he threw 52 goals in the EHF Champions League in the 2006/07 season , he attracted the interest of foreign clubs; Harbok had already signed a contract from July 2007 with the Rhein-Neckar Löwen in the German 1st handball Bundesliga in summer 2006 . After three years with the Lions, he moved to the Russian top club Medvedi Chekhov in 2010 , with whom he won both the championship and the cup in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2013 he returned to the Lions. For the 2014/15 season he signed a three-year contract with the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje . With Vardar, he won both the Macedonian Championship and the Macedonian Cup in 2015 and 2016. From summer 2016 he played for the Hungarian first division team Pick Szeged . With Szeged he won the Hungarian championship in 2018. He then returned to the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje. With Vardar he won the North Macedonian Championship and the EHF Champions League in 2019.
Sjarhej Harbok has played for the Belarusian national team in 42 games since 2001 and scored 193 goals. After moving to RK Celje, he was supposed to be naturalized in Slovenia like Siarhei Rutenka, so that he took the two-year international break that was necessary for this. In 2006, he declared that he no longer wanted to run for Belarus and that he was seeking Russian citizenship. After a personal conversation with the chairman of the handball association Vladimir Konopljow on June 6, 2007, he changed his decision and 3 days later he was back on the field for the Belarusian national team in the play-off qualification for the European handball championship 2008 . There he met Belarus in the preliminary round on the German men's national handball team .
His last game in the Belarusian national team, he was their captain, was on March 21, 2009 in qualifying for the 2010 European Handball Championship against Bulgaria. After that he did not join the team due to injuries and operations and at the end of 2009 he canceled games in the team for family reasons. His contract signing with Medvedi Chekhov in February 2010 was also in the family's interest .
In June 2011 he was invited to the training camp of the Russian national team for the first time and in March 2012, 3 years after his last game for Belarus, he was given the right to play for this team. In January 2013 he was inducted into the Russian national team for the 2013 Handball World Cup .
