The Bat Scandal is a film drama by director Herbert Selpin , who also worked on the script , from 1936. Maria Andergast plays the fiancé Mary Hill in the lead role .

action

At night a bat is up to mischief in Mary's bedroom , whereupon a man in pajamas flees the room. Mary's fiancé does not believe the story told by Mary about the bat in the bedroom and tells Mary that the engagement will no longer last.

All of this happens while Viktor, who has real feelings for Mary, has no chance with her, as he is commonly known as a "womanizer". The movie comes to a happy ending when Mary's aunt and Viktor's boss interfere in the situation and clarify the real facts. As a result, Mary and Viktor become a couple.

Production notes

The film was released in German cinemas on June 4, 1936 . In Austria it was performed under the title Scandal about Mary . The production , for which Guido Bagier was responsible, was headed by Martin Pichert . The location was London .

Film censorship

The Nazi regime checked the film for any content that might be detrimental to the regime and, with resolution B.42563, imposed a youth ban on it on June 3, 1936 as part of the film censorship customary at the time .
