Skjern Håndbold (actually Skjern Håndbold A / S ) is a Danish handball club from Skjern , West Jutland.

history

The club was founded on April 1st, 1992 from the handball departments of the local clubs Skjern Gymnastikforening , Skjern KFUM and KFUK's Idrætsforening . The men's division was promoted to the Danish elite series for the first time in the 1997/98 season and immediately became champions in the following season, an achievement that has so far been unique in Denmark. They also won the Danish Cup this season. In 2001/02 and 2002/03 the team brought the first European Cup to Denmark with the EHF Challenge Cup .

The women's division of the club played in the second Danish division until 2007; for the 2007/08 season the club gave the game license to Ringkøbing Håndbold .

The club currently has around 400 active members and around 40 teams. He is represented in all youth areas.
