Skovlund is a Danish village with 548 inhabitants (January 1, 2020) in the municipality of Varde , Region Syddanmark .

The village church Skovlund Kirke is the center of Skovlund Sogn .

Skovlund has an Efterskole (founded in 1996) and a Friskole , which took over the buildings of the abandoned primary school in 2012. The Skovlund Idrætsforening sports club celebrates its centenary in 2016. But its roots go back to 1904, when the first soccer club was founded. In addition to soccer and handball fields, the Skovlund Stadion sports field also has two inflatable playing fields for training youngsters.

Skovlund is located between Ølgod and Grindsted near the secondary route 487 from Varde to Give . Varde and Grindsted can be reached with the 98 bus .

Billund Airport is 30 km away .

economy

Numerous companies have set up shop in the Skovlund industrial park. In total, the manufacturing industry, agriculture, schools, dealers and service providers offer around 450 jobs. The largest employers are Flensted , Past Ella ( Orkla Foods ), DanBox and AKA Vejen , the Central Bureau of Foodservice Danmark and the Wardrobe specialist Mogensen .

history

Skovlund belonged to Øster Horne Herred in Ribe Amt until 1970 . 1970 to 2007 the place was part of the municipality Ølgod , Ribe Amt .

Kvie Sø

Four kilometers to the south-east is Kvie Sø, an oligotrophic so-called lobelia lake , on whose nutrient-poor water the protected water lobelia thrives. Such biotopes were typical of the West Jutian heather lakes before increased nutrient input became a problem due to intensified agriculture .
