The Sky Open 2013 took place from November 17 to 12, 2013 in Cairo , Egypt . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the International 50 category .
Defending champion was Nick Matthew , who won the tournament the last time it was held in 2010 against Karim Darwish in the final. He did not appear to defend his title. Darwish reached the final again as top seed, but lost to his compatriot Mohamed Elshorbagy with 2:11, 7:11 and 8:11. For Elshorbagy it was the second tournament win of the season and the seventh of his career.
The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. The reigning junior world champion Karim El Hammamy received a starting place in the main field by wildcard .
At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
