Skywalker Sound is a sound effects , editing and remastering company in the United States . The company has received 18 Oscars for best sound and sound effects editing and has been nominated for several Oscars, and Skywalker Sound has also received a Golden Reel Award , CAS Award (Cinema Audio Society), BAFTA , Emmy , Grammy and HPA Award (Hollywood Professional Association ) awarded or nominated. history
In 1975 George Lucas founded Sprocket Systems , a production company specializing in sound design , sound mixing, and sound effects . The company shared rooms with Industrial Light & Magic in San Rafael . In 1987 the studio moved to a new building on the Skywalker Ranch and from then on was called Skywalker Sound .
