Christopher Boyes

Christopher Boyes (also Chris Boyes ) is an American sound engineer who has worked on feature films since 1991. For his work in US American film, he has been nominated nine times for an Oscar , with four times he won the trophy.

Life

Boyes studied cinema at San Francisco State University and graduated with a BA in 1985 . He began his film work as a noisemaker , an activity that he says he loves and whose quality he considers essential for the success of a soundtrack. From 1992 he worked variously as a sound assistant until 1995 when he was responsible for the sound of the Steven Seagal strip Alert: Red 2 . To date, Boyes has worked in the sound department on over 70 US films.

Boyes played a number of roles in the sound of a number of commercially successful film series, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy , the Pirates of the Caribbean series , the Iron Man films and the Jurassic Park films. He has worked with world-famous directors several times, including Peter Jackson , James Cameron and Clint Eastwood .
