Sofia Domeij (born October 22, 1976 in Hudiksvall ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier and biathlete and today's functionary.

Sofia Domeij made her debut in the 1996 Cross Country World Cup in a five kilometer race (73rd) in Kiruna . Until 2005 it was used sporadically again and again, in the end in 33 world cup races. The best place was a 15th place in 2003 in a sprint race in Borlänge . In the same year she was Swedish runner-up in the double pursuit, and she was third twice in her career.

Domeij has been participating in biathlon competitions since 2005. She starts for the Örnsköldsviks skidskytteförening and is trained by Wolfgang Pichler , Leif Andersson and Staffan Eklund. The Ljusdalerin made her debut in Östersund in 2005 in the Biathlon World Cup , where she was 96th in the sprint. She won her first World Cup points in the 2005/06 season in Ruhpolding as a sprint 26. With the season she was fourth in Hochfilzen in the following season . As part of the Biathlon World Championships in 2007 , she reached 22nd in the sprint in Antholz, her best result in an individual race to date. She also achieved World Cup points in Pokljuka and Lahti . In the 2007/2008 season she reached 10th place in the sprint in Pyeongchang and thus for the first time the top 10 in an individual race.

Domeij's brother Andreas Domeij is a cross-country skier in the World Cup. In September 2011 she announced her retirement from competitive sports. In 2018, Domeij was elected chairwoman of the Swedish Biathlon Federation as the successor to Olle Dahlin, who was elected IBU President .
