Soy Alexandrovna Abramova

Soja Alexandrovna Abramowa ( Russian Зоя Александровна Абрамова ; born March 19, 1925 in Yaroslavl ; † October 31, 2013 in St. Petersburg ) was a Soviet - Russian prehistoric professor and university teacher .

Life

Abramova began studying at Leningrad University (LGU) in the Faculty of History in 1946 . She defended her diploma thesis at the end of her studies at the chair of archeology in 1951 with distinction.

From 1952 Abramova worked in the Leningrad Department of the Moscow Institute of Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (since 1991 St. Petersburg Institute for the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences ). As an aspirant to Alexei Pavlovich Okladnikow , she completed her candidate dissertation on paleolithic sculptures on the territory of the USSR , which she successfully defended in 1961.

Abramova carried out prospecting in the Minussinsk Basin and in the area between Abakan and Yenisei . She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation on the Palaeolithic art of Eurasia as historical sources in 1972 for her doctorate in history . In 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979 she examined the Dwuglaska cave in Bograd district . She took part in the expeditions to the palaeolithic settlements near Kostjonki in Chocholski district , in the floodplains of the Angara near Bratsk , on Mount Afontowa on the left bank of the Yenisei near Krasnoyarsk and in Yudinovo in Pogar district .

Abramova taught alongside her research work and was appointed professor in 1998 .
