Sope Aluko

Sope Aluko (born July 5, 1975 in Nigeria ) is a British - American actress of Nigerian descent.

life and career

Sope Aluko was born in the West African state of Nigeria, but traveled extensively from a young age because her father was in the diplomatic service. She lived in France , Tanzania and Indonesia , for example . During her time in London, she appeared in various plays by William Shakespeare and then attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Royal Academy of Arts . She also has a Masters in Marketing , which is why she initially turned away from acting.

Aluko has been taking on film and television roles since 2009. After some engagements in short films, appearances in series like Burn Notice , The Glades or Parks and Recreation followed . She also played supporting roles in films like Voll rockt , Pitch Perfect 2 or American Ultra . In 2015 she starred in the series Graceland in the role of Agent Avery Stanwood .

In addition to her native Yoruba , she also speaks English , French and Bahasa . She is the mother of two sons and lives in both Los Angeles and Miami .
