Sophie Friederike of Mecklenburg
Sophie Friederike, Duchess of Mecklenburg (-Schwerin) (born August 24, 1758 in Schwerin ; † November 29, 1794 at Sorgefri Castle near Copenhagen ) was Princess of Denmark .
Life
Sophie Friederike was the only daughter of Duke Ludwig zu Mecklenburg (1725–1778) and his wife Charlotte Sophie (1731–1810), daughter of Duke Franz Josias of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld . Her older brother was Friedrich Franz I.
On October 21, 1774, the wedding with the Hereditary Prince Frederick of Denmark took place in Copenhagen . He was the son of King Frederick V of Denmark and Norway (1723–1766) and his second wife Juliane (1729–1796), daughter of Duke Ferdinand Albrecht II of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel .
