Sosoliso Airlines was a Nigerian airline based in Enugu .
history
Sosoliso Airlines was founded in 1994 by the parent company Sosoliso Limited . A Boeing 727-200 , which was operated in cooperation with JAT Airways , was used to start flight operations on July 26, 2000 .
In the period from 2001 to 2003, two Douglas DC-9s followed , which were also leased from JAT Airways.
The company was grounded on December 14, 2005 after the crash of Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 by President Olusegun Obasanjo .
When the Nigerian government demanded a capital increase from all airlines in the country to improve safety standards in 2007, Sosoliso Airlines failed to meet the deadline. The company lost its approval on April 30 of the same year; operations have ceased.
Destinations
Sosoliso connected the five largest cities in the country with passenger and cargo flights from Lagos . In addition, they made their own aircraft available for charter flights.

Incidents
- On December 10, 2005, Sosoliso Airlines flight 1145 was a Douglas DC-9 in the ILS approach for landing on runway 21 at Port Harcourt Airport . The crew decided to continue the final approach when passing the decision height despite adverse weather conditions and a lack of view of the runway . When you look at but at 204 feet to go- decided, the plane sank still further and sat on a grass area between the runway and taxiway with the tail. The rear fuselage met an exposed water pipe after 60 meters; Engine number 2 and the rear passenger stairs tore off. As a result, the plane caught fire and broke over the next 790 meters. All seven crew members and 108 of the 110 passengers were killed.
