Fun on tuesday

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fun on Tuesday was a German children's program that ran with alternating moderators on First German Television . The series was one of the most successful children's programs of the 1980s. The core of the program were cartoons and live action films for children, which were presented by the presenter and the computer animation Zini . The program ran under the following names:

  • Monday Fun (20 episodes, 1980–1981)
  • Fun on Monday (54 episodes, 1980–1983)
  • Fun on Tuesday (340 episodes, January 3, 1984 to November 24, 1992, sometimes with the addition "with Thomas and Zini" or "with Werner and Zini")
  • Wednesday fun

construction

The special feature of the program was that half of the screen action was based on a real actor, while the other half was realized using trick technology. The studio atmosphere was created by a wide, wall-standing sofa in grandmother's style. The special attraction of the show was due to the partly funny and partly conflicting dialogues between the two actors.

In addition, mainly cartoons were presented, with at least one Disney cartoon with Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck in the program. Continuation films were also shown, but these contributed rather moderately to the success of the show.

Some of the moderation's words were:

  • SpAMo and SpADi as an abbreviation of the program name
  • MAZ from the start signal for the film screening
  • Preview as an announcement of a preview of the next program
  • Tuesday gazers as a term for the young audience
  • Tschüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüussss as a rejection

These often did not stand on their own, but were commented on with a good deal of self-irony and self-criticism and pushed on.

In Fun on Tuesday the following cartoons and real films were shown:

Moderation

Electronic moderator

A "Wuslon"

Zini , a “Wuslon from the Elektroiden family”, was invented for the children's program “ Fun am Montag” and taken over into the corresponding follow-up programs. The figure was actually just an orange-yellow circular disk, which flitted across the screen with a shadow that floated afterwards and could speak in a slightly squeaky, lively voice. Zini was created purely analogously using the means provided by the video mixer at the time: A circle with a colored area was created and looped through the device several times, so that the tail was created through a feedback effect. The position of the circle in the image could be changed with several controls, so that the movements of Zini resulted from it. In the course of time, various constructive Zini effects were developed and given a story as part of the moderation, e.g. B. growing up or changing color. At the end of the series, the idea of Wuslon also disappeared from the screen for the time being. Zini had the alienated voice of Günter Dybus .

The satirical magazine Neo Magazin Royale brought Zini a kind of comeback in 2015. Occasionally, moderator Jan Böhmermann tries to interview Zini on political issues. The Wuslon answers the questions evasively and with obscure theories. He indulges in ranting tirades that are characterized by crude language and are offensive.

Real moderators

The author of the moderator's texts and director was Peter Podehl , as was the case with Hallo Spencer and Lemmi and the Schmöker . From 1990 Joris Hermans took over the direction and part of the book work.
