The FK Dinamo Samarkand is a football club in the Uzbek city of Samarkand . The club currently plays in the top division of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek Professional Football League . The club plays its home games in the Olympic Stadium. The association was founded in 1960. Since its foundation, the association has made many name changes.
Club history
In 1992 Dinamo was a "founding member" of the new Uzbek League. In 1993 they were relegated to the second division for the first time, a second time in 1997. This was followed by the most successful phase of the club in recent times. As a climber, they finished 5th in 1999. In the following year, the best placement to date with a 4th place at the end of the season. In addition, they made it to the cup final in 2000, which they clearly lost 4-1 to the then champions FK Do'stlik Tashkent . In 2004 they were again relegated to sport. Only the deduction of points by a league competitor enabled Dinamo to remain in the first division. The 2008 season ended in 6th place, in 2009 they finished eighth.
