Spielberg is a district and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Melk in the Melk district in Lower Austria .

history

Spielberg originally belonged to the Wolfstein-Aggswald lordship , which was a Bavarian fiefdom and was awarded to Afterlehner , including the Kuenringers in Spielberg and, as their successors, the Maissauer . Wolfstein was also the location of the district court of the Maissauer, who ran it until they were disempowered in 1430.
