course

On the south-eastern slopes of the 784 m high Mitterberg and the 725 m high Vorderberg, three brooks arise that merge and flow south towards Fuchsmühle . 400 m north of Fuchsmühle, this stream disappears in a drainage pipe and reappears on the northern edge of Fuchsmühle. It flows further south past Fuchsmühle on the western edge of the village. Another source stream rises southeast of Fuchsmühle on the northwest slope of the 551 m high Dürrenloh and joins the stream coming from Fuchsmühle after 260 m.

Another source brook of the Spielhofer Bach rises on the southeast edge of the village of Miesbrunn . It meets the first-mentioned source stream 600 m south of Fuchsmühle from the right.

After another 800 m, the Spielhofer Bach meets the eastern edge of the hamlet of Spielhof , from which it takes its name. After Spielhof, the stream swings more to the southwest from its previous southern direction.

Now the Spielhofer Bach passes under the connecting road from Vohenstrauss to Waidhaus and immediately afterwards the federal motorway 6 (A 6). Behind the motorway, the brook swings even more in a westerly direction and after another 1.3 km flows into the Raunetbach from the right at Hörlmühle . Shortly before its mouth, the Spielhofer Bach leaves the municipality of Pleystein and changes to the municipality of Waidhaus.
