geography

course

The upper sources of the Raunetbach and its tributaries lie on the south side of a ridge that stretches from Mitterberg ( 784  m above sea level ) in the south-southwest over Wolfswinkelberg ( 760  m above sea level ) and Saturdayberg ( 688  m above sea level ) to Schneeberg ( 746  m above sea level ) east of the origin of the main strand.

This is on the southern edge of the corridor around the Georgenberger village Leßlohe just in the municipality area at about 644  m above sea level. NHN . It flows south through a section of forest and continues through the Waidhauser scattered settlement village Reinhardsrieth , which was formerly also called Raunetsried , and the surrounding open land , interspersed with small forest islands, in which it collects its larger upstream tributaries , which arise on the slopes of the mountains mentioned. After the Kaltenlohbach, the most important of them, flowed to it from the right, it crosses a dike between the southeasternmost foothills of the Kleiner Hochberg ( 629  m above sea level ) of the Mitterberg on the right and the 756  m above sea level. NHN high Pleysteiner Sulzberg in the east.

Shortly afterwards it reaches Hagendorf and here begins a large arc that stretches to the east around an only 551  m above sea level. NHN high forest hill opposite the Waidhaus parish seat. In the course of this, he passes something to the west of the market village, its hamlet Ödkührieth and its wastelands Kühmühle , Papiermühle and Marxmühle . The Raunetbach then swings in a southerly direction again and crosses under the district road NEW 50 and the A6 motorway in a short, wooded eastern corner of the municipality of Pleystein , and shortly afterwards the former Eslarn - Neustadt railway line , on which the Bocklradweg runs today, again in Waidhauser area . Less than a hundred meters later, the most important Raunetbach tributary, the Spielhofer Bach, flows from the right . About 200 meters below the Hörlmühle, the Raunetbachs itself flows approximately southwards from the right at about 491  m above sea level. NHN in the upper Pfreimd .

The Raunetbach flows after an 8.2 km long stretch of river with an average bed gradient of about 19 ‰, about 153 meters in altitude below its main line origin. With the exception of the Spielhofer Bach, all of the other larger tributaries have their source, some noticeably higher.

Catchment area

The 23.1 km² catchment area lies between that of the Rehlingbach in the east and that of the Zottbach in the north and west, both of which also flow into the Pfreimd. It touches Czech territory on the Schneeberg.

  • Cow mill . Left across from Ödkührieth .
  • Paper mill a little further down from Ödkührieth. On the mill, founded in the 17th century, was a showerk paper miller in 1728.
