history

The ending -rieth of the place name Reinhardsrieth indicates an early development of the place before the 13th century. The places with the place names ending in -reuth, -rieth, -ried, -richt (earlier spellings: -riut, -rivt, -rewt, derived from "clearing", "clearing") emerged in connection with the first settlement of the area by clearing the dense forest. Places with such names occur very often in the area of the rivers Pfreimd and Luhe and the adjacent streams. These were the starting point for the settlement of the region.

In 1357 Reinhardsrieth passed from the property of Ruger, the Pleysteiner and his sons Fränzel and Wolfhard to the Landgraves Ulrich II and Johann I von Leuchtenberg . In Pleystein there had been a bailiff who had been the Landgrave of Leuchtenberg and who exercised the high court since 1366. Reinhardsrieth belonged to the Pleystein judicial district.

In an interest register from 1454 Reinhardsrieth is mentioned as desolate and abandoned.

The Pleystein office was described for the 18th century in a conscription of the nursing office from 1770, a description of the office from 1780, in the general files from 1792, in the topographical description of the Duchy of Sulzbach from 1799/1800, in the house and rustic tax register and in the primary register of 1840. In these documents Reinhardsrieth was recorded as an independent municipality in the Vohenstrauß district. The village of Hagendorf, the village of Leßlohe, the hamlet of Hagenhaus and the solitude of Berghaus also belonged to the community of Reinhardsrieth. There were 15 properties in the village of Reinhardsrieth, including a mill and an inn. In addition, there was a shepherd's house belonging to the community. The Reinhardsrieth parish belonged to the Miesbrunn parish.

Since 1799 the judges in Pleystein held the title of state judge. In 1805 Reinhardsrieth belonged to the third quarter of the Pleystein nursing office . The quarter master responsible was in Hagendorf

In 1808 tax districts were formed. Reinhardsrieth belonged to the Hagendorf tax district which, in addition to Hagendorf itself, also included the villages of Hinterbrünst, Leßlohe, Reinhardsrieth and the desert areas Berghaus, Hagenhaus, Lösselmühle, Zitzmannhaus and Waldheim. The Hagendorf tax district now belonged to the Vohenstrauß Regional Court.

Markets, rural communities and village communities emerged from the tax districts . In 1821 Reinhardsrieth was a village parish with 31 families. The village of Leßlohe with 23 families, the hamlet of Bernlohe with 8 families and the desert Hagenhaus with 2 families also belonged to the village of Reinhardsrieth. The community Reinhardsrieth remained in this form until 1830. In 1830 the community Hagendorf with Berghaus was incorporated into Reinhardsrieth.

In 1913 Reinhardsrieth had her own school.
