Birklohe is a district of the Bavarian market Waidhaus in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the administrative district of Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

Birklohe is located about two kilometers northeast of Waidhaus and two kilometers west of the Czech border on the southern slope of the Sulzberg.

In the Statistical Handbook of Bavaria from 1867, Birklohe (spelling: Birkenlohe) with 9 inhabitants appeared as belonging to the municipality of Waidhaus. In 1913 Birklohe had 2 houses and 13 Catholics. At that time there were 1653 Catholics, 8 Protestants and 16 Jews living in the area of the parish Waidhaus. In 1990 8 Catholics lived in Birklohe.
