In the 18th century Ödkührieth had four properties, three Sölden and a mill. It belonged to the municipality of Waidhaus, to the district of Vohenstrauß. The mill of Ödkührieth was the Kühmühle, which today (2015) is part of Waidhaus. Only here did Kühmühle appear together with Ödkührieth, otherwise Kühmühle was treated separately and did not share Ödkührieth's fate. So Ödkührieth belonged to the tax district Lohma, the municipality Spielhof and the branch Burkhardsrieth, while Kühmühle belonged politically and ecclesially to Waidhaus. The Kühmühle was an electoral fief .

In 1808 tax districts were formed. Kühmühle belonged to the Waidhaus tax district which, in addition to Waidhaus itself, also contained the village of Frankenreuth, the hamlet of Reichenau and the desert areas of Kühmühle, Richterhaus (= Hermannsbach) and Speckermühle (= Oberströbl). The Waidhaus tax district belonged to the Vohenstrauß regional court.

Since the middle of the 19th century, Kühmühle has belonged to the Waidhaus community, which emerged from the Waidhaus tax district.

In 1867 the Kühmühle had three buildings and 11 residents. It belonged to the Waidhaus community. The Waidhaus community at that time included the districts Waidhaus, Birkenlohe, Buchen, Bucher, Forsthaus, Frankenreuth, Grafenau, Hörlmühle, Kühmühle, Oberströbl (= Speckermühle), Pfälzerhof, Reichenau, Richterhaus (= Hermannsbach) and Ziegelhütte.

From 1939 the districts of Birklohe, Forsthaus, Frankenreuth, Grafenau, Hörlmühle, Kühmühle, Marxmühle, Oberströbl (= Speckermühle and Ströbl), Ödkührieth, Papiermühle, Pfälzerhof, Reichenau and Ziegelhütte belonged to the municipality of Waidhaus.
