Building

Exterior design

Buttresses form the starting points of the vault on the outer walls and strengthen the 1.20 meter thick walls. In contrast to the simple design of the nave walls is the extremely rich design of the west wall. There a round arched niche encompasses the portal designed as an ancient aedicule . Two Corinthian columns support a triangular gable which in turn spans a round arch supported by two smaller columns. This structure, reminiscent of Roman triumphal arches, the antique ornamental shapes and the precise handcrafted execution of the masonry are characteristic of the Romanesque style of Provence.

The relief depictions of the west wall, however, are of significantly lower quality. These show Daniel in the lions' den and the Fall in the tympanum, and the Annunciation and the Visitation in the rectangular field of the triangular pediment . The elaborate design of the round window in the facade gable shows the symbols of the four evangelists .

Interior

The apse of the single-nave aisle church is semicircular inside, but designed with a five-eighth end on the outside . The nave has three yokes and a slightly pointed barrel vault supported by belt arches . Through the slope area in which the chapel is located, the floor inside the chapel also rises towards the choir .
