Exterior construction

On the north side of the west facade rises the mighty, 36 meter high bell tower, which was built in the middle of the 16th century in the Renaissance style. It has numerous figure niches crowned by canopies, but the sculptures are no longer preserved. The bell storey is structured by fluted pilasters and is broken up by large arched sound arcades . A semicircular stair tower is built on its south side.

An oculus is cut into the gable of the west facade , underneath three arched windows framed by columns with capitals open . A diamond Fries , the on sculptured with heads and figures corbels rests, forms the lower closure of the gable. The west portal is framed by slightly pointed archivolts and laterally by slender columns with buds and leaf capitals standing on high plinths. The north portal, which is also surrounded by archivolts, has figurative capitals with heads and grimaces.

Choir

The nave has three aisles . The central nave is covered by a flat wooden ceiling. The arcades of the central nave lie on massive pillars, which are provided with simple fighters towards the south aisle and with bud capitals towards the north aisle. A blend triforium runs along the north and west walls of the central nave and continues into the choir . On the south wall of the central nave, it is only present in the western yoke . The north wall of the central aisle is pierced above the triforium by clapboard windows. The cross-rib vaulted choir closes with a semicircular apse , which is illuminated by large arched windows, under which blind arcades are cut into the wall. The capitals of the triforium as well as the pillars and blind arcades in the choir are decorated with faces, grimaces and plant motifs.

crypt

The very well-preserved Romanesque crypt is considered to be the largest in the Yvelines department. It has three aisles and is covered with groin vaults that rest on pillars, the capitals of which are decorated with wickerwork and fine decoration. Originally two flights of stairs led to the crypt, in which Marian relics were venerated. Today the crypt is used for worship in winter.
