history

The Müddersheimer Kirche was built in baroque forms between 1777 and 1778 according to plans by Christian Krakamp from Cologne. But there was a church in Müddersheim even earlier. Inside the church has a painted wooden vault. The walls of the church are also painted.

Since 2010 St. Amandus in Müddersheim is no longer an independent parish. It became with the former parishes of St. Gereon (Vettweiß), St. Michael (Kelz), St. Antonius (Ginnick), St. Gangolf (Soller), St. Jakobus the Elder (Jakobwüllesheim), St. Johann Baptist (Sievernich) , St. Mariä Himmelfahrt (Disternich), St. Martin (Froitzheim) and St. Petrus (Gladbach) merged to form the parish of St. Marien, Vettweiß.

Furnishing

The church has a baroque or neo-baroque high altar and two side altars. The windows of the church were created around 1900 by an unknown artist. The organ of the church dates from 1865 and is the work of the Nörvenich organ builders Kalscheuer . The organ has 15 stops and is still in its original condition from 1865. Only in 1887 was a register added by the organ building company Johannes Klais from Bonn and in 1980 another register was added. In 2011 the instrument was restored by Orgelbau Wilbrandt from Übach-Palenberg .
