description
The Gothic hall church in the complex was built around 1500. It has an elongated nave , a three-sided end of the choir and a recessed church tower in the west. In the 17th century, as well as in 1702 and 1783, it was structurally changed. The nave was given arched windows , a roofed staircase to the galleries was built on the south side and a sacristy was added to the east . The tower was given a baroque shape with a curved slate-covered dome and an open lantern . On the tower in the direction of the town center is a clock with a highly modern radio-controlled movement. The bell strikes every full and half hour.
The interior was covered with a wooden barrel vault. The three-sided galleries are two-story. Furthermore, were boxes installed. The pulpit altar , built around 1700, has free-standing columns and is decorated with sculptures . The coat of arms of the von Vippach family is from 1596. The organ with 14 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built around 1810 by an unknown organ builder .
In 1992 the church had to be closed due to the dilapidation of the nave. The church was renovated over many years. Now it is used again.
