St. Bartholomäus (Schwagstorf)
St. Bartholomäus in the Fürstenau district of Schwagstorf is the parish church of the Catholic parish of St. Bartholomäus, which belongs to the Osnabrück-Nord deanery of the Osnabrück diocese .
Building history and description
The Romanesque hall church with three-bay nave and just closed choir was built in the first half of the 13th century. The building material is quarry stone , the nave yokes are equipped with groined vaults with belt arches , but without shield arches . The windows and the portal in the south wall are rounded .
In 1732 the church was renovated and the west tower with a pointed dome was added. During this time, the sacristy may have been added to the east of the choir, which was enlarged in the 20th century.
Interior
The one-story, wooden altar was created in 1697 by Georg Dollart from Münster . The eight-sided pyramid-shaped baptismal font of sandstone dates back to 1728, the yellow metal - chandeliers of 1653. A Strahlenmonstranz silver gilt should from the Dominican monastery Osnabrück have been acquired.
