history

The church, which until December 31, 2001 belonged to the parish of Ebertshausen , has been supplied by the parish of Altenmünster since 1953. Since January 1, 2002 it has also belonged to Altenmünster under canon law. The basement of the tower and the southern wall of the nave are medieval. Around 1600 the tower was raised in the style of Julius Echter with the characteristic pointed roof and the nave was extended. The outside of the church was renovated between 2011 and 2012. An interior renovation followed between 2014 and 2015.

description

The high altar was set up in the church in 1955 and reworked. In the church of Schönbach in the Haßberge district it only served as a side altar and was therefore widened. The altar painting depicts the crucifixion . On the side altars from the 17th century you can see depictions of the adoration of the kings and the martyrdom of St. Bartholomew. The pulpit is classicist and was built in the late 18th century. There are three putti on it as symbols of faith , hope and love . During the interior renovation from 2014 to 2015, like the side altars, it was given back the color version from around 1780. The ceiling painting, the glorification of St. Dionysius and his companions, was created by the painter Johann Georg Köhler from Münnerstadt in 1740.
