St. George Catholic Church

The Catholic Church of St. Georg is located in the municipality of Burgwalde in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .

history

The church was built in 1700, which is also indicated by the carved inscription on the west portal . The years 1730 to 1735 are also mentioned, which certainly point to additional construction measures. Consecrated the church on October 10, 1735 by Bishop Christoph Ignatius of Gudenus from Erfurt . The roof ridge was built in 1898. The choir was rebuilt in 1934 and the sacristy added.
