Parish church St. Jakobus the Elder in Haunswies

The Catholic parish church of St. Jakobus the Elder in Haunswies , a district of the Affing community in the Aichach-Friedberg district in the Bavarian administrative district of Swabia , was built from the 16th century. The church at Pfarrweg 3 is a protected architectural monument .

The hall building with a flat needle cap barrel has a retracted choir , which was built in the core in 1507. To the north is the onion dome tower, which was rebuilt after a collapse in 1907. The tower substructure is possibly from Romanesque times. The nave from 1777 was expanded in the 1980s. The exterior is structured by pilasters .

The furnishings are largely preserved in the Rococo style . The fresco in the nave was created by Johann Georg Dieffenbrunner . The transfiguration of Christ is shown on Mount Tabor. The fresco in the choir from 1915 is by Jakob Huwyler and shows St. James helping the poor and the sick. The high altar picture shows the martyrdom of St. James. The Assumption of Mary can be seen in the left side altar and St. Joseph in the right .
