The Roman Catholic branch church St. Jakobus the Elder is the village church of Heufurt, a district of Fladungen in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön-Grabfeld . Heufurt is part of the parish community Fladungen - Nordheim . The church is one of the architectural monuments of Fladungen and is registered together with the churchyard wall under the number D-6-73-123-65 in the Bavarian list of monuments .

history

Heufurt is a branch of the parish of Nordheim. When this was founded is unknown. The choir , the church tower and the sacristy are late Gothic . The nave was built in 1710.

description

The choir in the east with five-eighth end has one, the nave with a gable roof three window axes . The windows are segment arcs . There are small round windows on the front wall of the choir and the western wall of the nave. In contrast to the flat stucco ceiling of the nave, the choir has a cap vault . The three-story church tower is on the south side of the choir. He has a pointed helmet and arched sound windows .

Furnishing

The church was remodeled in 2010 and 2011. Parts of the baroque furnishings are still there. At the high altar one is Kreuzigungsgruppe attached. The side altars have figures of the patron saint (left) and Our Lady (right). The ceiling painting depicts the Assumption of Mary . The organ hangs on the western wall. The church has a four-part minor bell with the tones es ', ges', as 'and b'. The bells were cast by the Grüninger bell foundry in Neu-Ulm in 1949 .
