The Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius is a church in Haindlfing , a district of the city of Freising (Upper Bavaria).

history

The place was mentioned for the first time in 807 in connection with the building of a church and the donation to the bishop in Freising. In the 10th century, the existence of an independent parish church in Haindlfing under Bishop Abraham is certain. The Freising Bishop Gottfried donated the parish Haindlfing to the Neustift monastery in 1312 . St. Lawrence has been known as the patron saint of the parish church since the 16th century . In the 18th century, the old parish church was described by the canon canonist Joseph Anton Schmid.

Church building

In 1728 a cost estimate of 2,417 guilders was submitted for the new building of the now dilapidated church and from 1738–1740 the church was rebuilt according to the plans of the Munich builder Michael Pröbstl . The church itself is a low hall with a three-sided choir and an attached sacristy. The choir flank tower dates from the 15th century. Extensive renovations were carried out on the building in 1906 and 1983.

The church building is a listed building and is recorded in the list of architectural monuments in Freising (file number D-1-78-124-260).

Parish within the parish association

The parish of Haindlfing, which has been part of the parish association of St. Peter and Paul in Freising-Neustift since October 1, 2014 , has around 500 members. It also includes the villages of Garten , Moos, Pettenbrunn , Untergartelshausen , Eichelberg and Feldhof. The parishes of Marzling-St. Also belong to the newly established parish association of St. Peter and Paul in Freising-Neustift. Martin and the Curatie Tüntenhausen-St. Michael.
