The parish church of St. Lantpert is a Catholic church in the Freising district of Lerchenfeld .

First church from 1937

The foundation stone for the first church in Lerchenfeld was laid on November 15, 1936. On August 1, 1937, the Church of was Cardinal Faulhaber ordained . In the first years the church belonged to the parish of St. George . It was not until April 18, 1946 that it became part of an independent parish of the same name. The church was named after Lantpert von Freising , who was Bishop of Freising from 937 until his death in 957 .

New building from 1983/84

Over the years the church became too small for the rapidly growing Lerchenfeld district. Despite protests, the decision was made to build a new building based on the plans of the Freising architect Hans Hoffmann. After the last fair on May 7, 1983, demolition began. After the laying of the foundation stone on September 17, 1983, the church was opened on December 9, 1984 by Archbishop Dr. Consecrated to Friedrich Cardinal Wetter . A new organ was inaugurated in 1991. The last work for the time being was carried out by Franz Bernhard Weißhaar in 1999. During this time, representations of biblical and church events were created on the west and north walls. The church tower, which stands free next to the church house, is 42 meters high, its design is based on the striking towers of the cathedral that characterize the cityscape and houses a five-part bronze bell in the tone sequence d '- e' - g '- h' - d ".
