A church was first mentioned here in 1555. The current hall church with choir tower was built on the foundation walls of the old, dilapidated previous church between 1736 and 1739. The nave is covered with a gable roof. The tower has a slate roof on which an open lantern sits. In addition, it has an octagonal storey for the belfry and the tower clock . The choir , separated from the nave by a round triumphal arch, has three renewed lead glass windows . The church furnishings are simple, only the pulpit and the altar from 1899 are decorated with inlays .

The organ with nine registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built in 1845 by the organ builder Poppe . It was restored in 1997.

The last thorough restoration of the church took place between 1988 and 1996.
