The simple baroque hall church , initiated by Johann Kaspar von vom Hagen , was built in 1740–1753 by master builder Grätzemann, including a previous building from the 12th century, made of quarry stone . The nave has approximately a north-south orientation. The square church tower , it wears a Welsche hood , stands in front of the western long side.
The church furnishings include a wood carving depicting the Adoration of the Magi , it was originally part of an altar that was built around 1510. A crucifixion group , with Mary and John as free-standing figures, used to belong to an altar that was built around 1520. A portrait painting , Martin Luther performing, was designed to work 1,542th An Easter group with the risen Jesus Christ , flanked by two angels, originally belonged to a pulpit altar from 1740.
In 1960 the church was closed by the building authorities. It was converted into a community center in the early 1970s , which opened in 1977. For this purpose, the interior was divided into several rooms, ceilings were hung and the floor was raised. After the dismantling and renovation of the interior, the church was consecrated again in 2017.
The organ with nine registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built in 1900 by the organ builders Walker & Sons.
