Sankt Nikolai im Sölktal is a village with 479 inhabitants (January 1, 2020) in Styria ( Schladming judicial district ). As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria, it has been merged with the municipalities of Kleinsölk and Großsölk since 2015.The new municipality bears the name Sölk . The basis for this was the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG. A complaint brought by the former municipality against the amalgamation to the Constitutional Court was unsuccessful.

Sankt Nikolai im Sölktal is located in the Gröbming branch in the Liezen district in the Austrian state of Styria . The village is located in the Sölktäler Nature Park .
There are no other cadastral communities apart from Sankt Nikolai in Sölktal. Districts are Mößna and Fleiss.
history
The abolition of the manorial lords took place in 1848. The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to the Reichsgau Steiermark, 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria. In 1959 a road was built on the Ennstal side from Kaltenbach and on the Murtal side from the Kreutzerhütte to the Sölkpasshöhe .
