history

A wooden church has been found on the site of today's church as early as the 7th century. This was replaced by a stone building around 700. Further new buildings followed in the early 9th century, around 1000 and 1200. The predecessor of today's church was built around 1480/90, a building in the late Gothic style with a west tower and polygonal choir . This was in 17./18. Century Baroque style in the 19th century in the style of Romanesque Revival transformed.

The late Gothic church was demolished in 1935 with the exception of the choir. The current building was built in 1936/37 according to plans by the architects Hans Neumaier and Georg Berlinger . The late Gothic polygonal choir of the previous building was included. It came to lie south of the chancel and initially served as a sacristy. From 1987 the church was restored. A separate sacristy building was added to the north of the chancel and the late Gothic choir was set up as a weekday chapel.

architecture

Inside, the church is essentially a single-nave hall building with a strongly flattened arched vault .
